I wouldn’t say “easy”, but definitely possible. You just have to be super organized and good at handling stress. Also having people to help you is obviously huge.

It’s doable! Like PP said, you definitely have to be super organized and be ready to send emails and/or call vendors. Give yourself enough time to do it! I enjoy planning it myself.

That honestly depends on you. I'm used to planning large-scale events ever since college and I do not my current job with the student body so to me planning a wedding while it is stressful it's definitely doable. I have party or wedding planners trying to sell their services to me and I have no interest because honestly not that they are not more knowledgeable than I am but I don't feel like they can do anything that I couldn't do. So that depends on how much you want to be involved and maybe even the size of your wedding. Maybe looking to a day of coordinator but sometimes those even can charge close to $1,000 which I don't see me investing in that when I can put that towards more useful things.

I'm a former event coordinator. Planning an event takes a lot of organization without a professional, but it can be done and I'm doing it for our wedding. However, I do hope to fit into our budget a DOC. I would prefer to enjoy the day, rather than running an event. Overseeing set up and break down, making sure the timeline is running accordingly, dealing with vendors calling, any necessary last minute changes... They do a lot and I think it's worth it if you can afford a DOC.

    Yes.

I only used one because she was recommended to me and provided a really great price.
I was seriously not pleased with her.
I only continued with her because of the SIGNIFICANT discounts that she could provide since she had the essential business contacts.
I will not be providing her name to anyone that asks.

Mine was essentially a DoC, but she didn’t work my Wedding.

She had people that worked with me (in another department) do it.
My problem with that is, if I had wanted to invite them, I would have.
I feel very strongly that she should’ve disclosed who they were so that I could decide if I wanted them to be at my Wedding. Instead of stating “that I’d be surprised who they were”.

It's not necessarily easier but it's totally doable if you stay organized

IMO wedding planners are the way to go if you can afford it. They deal with the stress (mostly) and you get to have fun getting creative and they bring your vision to life, and handle all the mishaps. I just don’t have the time.

That depends on the type of person you are. I’m very organized and love planning so I didn’t have one. It wasn’t “easy” but I didn’t stress a lot and overall had a good time planning my own wedding.

I think it is, but it depends on the type of venue you have and how many vendors you have. For example, my FH and I went with a venue that had a required caterer and bartender and the venue has a coordinator that we've been talking to. Other than the venue, we just have the officiant and the photographer so it's easy to keep track of everything. It is a lot of organizing and thinking about small details but me and my FH have been enjoying it!

I'm doing that...it's not easy but it's not super difficult. I've just had to be really organized and put reminders like crazy in my phone. My FH is really good at helping as well.

Not easy. Planning a wedding is very time consuming - I feel like I don't have a life right now! We have a 2 year engagement though so all of the time to do research and get a hold of vendors has been a big asset.

I don't know if I'd call it "easy." Planning my wedding has been slightly stressful (mostly because we're on a tight budget, if I had more money then I'd probably call it easy) BUT all the wedding websites with vendors that include reviews/easy method of contact does really help. It's DEFINITELY doable and a lot cheaper when you choose to be hands on and DIY.
