is it bad luck?

I sure hope its not bad luck, I have tried mine on several times!! The only "superstition" I have is my FH seeing me on my wedding day before the wedding. This is NOT going to happen!!

Why would it be bad luck?? You have to try on your dress few times to make sure it fits, & how it looks & if you still like it & just because you feel like it !!! Of course it is not bad luck.. it is good luck if anything :-)

I wonder how you'd have fittings if it were bad luck to try on the dress?

I have heard of a superstition similar. It states that it is bad luck to try on the entirety of what you will wear before the wedding, meaning dress with veil, shoes, jewelry, undies, etc. Just trying on pieces is no biggie.

It is only true if you believe it. I unfortunately am 2,000 miles away from my dress.

It's bs. Actually it's not even bad luck for your FH to see you in the dress before the wedding, that supersition came from when there were arranged marriages and he hadn't met the bride and had time to run if he didn't like what he saw. I'd say we're all pretty sure our groom has seen us before and well if your groom has'nt seen you before than maybe don't let him see you or the dress

The only superstition I've heard, which really isn't one, is that my mom told me to put a lady bug in my bouquet for good luck.

I don't believe superstitions! Our wedding is at 5pm and although sunset isn't till like 8ish we want light for most of the pictures, so we are taking pictures BEFORE the ceremony. So he will see me in the dress and everything before the ceremony when we do the group pictures, so that there are less to do after the ceremony before the reception!

He also saw the dress, which my sister swears is bad luck, before I bought it. I wanted to know what he thought about it, its his wedding too. And I plan on trying mine on alot when it finally comes in!

If that were true, every woman on the planet would be divorced. Because I really doubt most brides to their own wedding without ever having tried on their gown.

More importantly, have you found somebody to hem your dress?

Only one I have is FH not seeing me....if trying on your dress before you get married is bad luck then I think most of us would have bad luck since you have to try on your dress to get it altered

No i've only heard its supposed to be bad luck for the groom to see you in it.... never heard anything about trying it on though. I mean if you think about it... how do you NOT try it one multiple times.... you have to make sure it fits right

No..... someone on here once said.... (and if its here and i missed it..MY BAD) that if you believe in ONE superstition you have to believe in them ALL... and most of silly. lol... try it on, have fun...
