Is fake flowers that tacky?

My future mother in-law is amazing with fake flowers and doing things with them. Its just too expensive for real flowers. Has anyone else done or doing this also?

    I am also using fake flowers. My MIL is not happy about it. We can’t afford real flowers and real flowers end up looking sad and tired by the end of the night. At a friends wedding last year I saw a brides maid chuck her bouquet into the trash on the way out of the reception.
