Is anyone else planning an elopement?

We are in our 40s. We've both done the formal wedding thing before.

We started out wanting to rent a girl scout camp and having an informal wedding there.

Then we decided to change it to a back yard wedding.

We have finally decided we don't want a wedding at all. We're planning to elope in October.


Pennsylvania has self-unifying marriage licenses. All we need is ourselves and two witnesses.


We're taking our best friends (they are married) with us for a weekend away and eloping while we're there.


Anyone else planning an elopement?

    We're eloping next year! We're in our mid/late 30s (I'll be 36 and he'll be 39 next fall, second marriage for us both)


    We will quietly do paperwork here in the States and then run off to Greece to read our vows and have our elopement photos there. Self-unifying is amazing and sounds so wonderful!!

    We were originally planning an elopement (just us and our parents!) but we decided to just have a really intimate wedding (less than 30 people) so we can celebrate with our closest friends and family! Thats pretty much anyone who really means anything to us anyway!

    Well you have to do what is good for you anyway Smiley smile. For your weekend away are you staying in a nice hotel and eating beautiful food and everything? Will your friends know before they get there that you are eloping with them? Smiley smile

    Our friends are the only people in real life who know. We are renting a nice airbnb, doing a small ceremony there, going out to a nice dinner. We plan on an escape room and horseback riding that weekend as well.
