Is a wedding website truly worth it?

I've been working on a website here and there but I'm really not feeling it. I mean is it truly worth the effort? We are not doing RSVP though it, all direction and hotel info will be printed out and included with the invites. Just wondering if it's worth it or not.

We are doing one. Actually I update it a lot but I am waiting for some more photos before I give it out to friends. We are doing online Save the dates with a link to the website soo I am hoping it gets a lot of traffic. We are having the hotel info on the website soo I think a website is important.

Honestly, mine is a blog that really I wanted to document my experience and I wanted to help other brides. I'm not sure how much info I am putting on there about the actual wedding information. I feel the invite says it all. We don't really have any OOT guests so there really is no need. My site is more for me than guests or anything.

Me personally, I didn't think a wedding website was necessary.. Plus I really didn't want to put all my work into making one. Everything came out great without one.

As far as the bridal party I sent everyone an itinerary on the dates and times of events. Good luck!!

I think that if you were to email it out or put it up on FB people are going to take a look and use it. If it's just on the invitation it's not going to get much activity.

@Jason, mine was on our email STD's to our friends (family received magnets earlier than friends) and still not much. Including other friends who had been married and had a site.

@Misty, a blog is different than a website, though. Most put together websites to inform their guests of various things, from hotels to directions to don't bring children or other random people. I would have thought that making it easier for my guests to RSVP would also cause them to look around the site to know about some things (no kids, unplugged ceremony), but nope.

I'm with Amy, they shouldn't take very long to put together at all, unless you're super detailed.

It's great if guest go and look at it.

I'm making one to surprise my FH. It doesn't take that long once you figure out what you want to include and weddingwire makes it really easy. I couldn't believe how easy it was.

I would do one because I went to a wedding where there wasn't one, and I had no idea what to expect. No idea what to wear, whether the wedding would be indoor/ outdoors, if we needed cash for the reception, what time it was ending, anything. I like to be in the know, so I want to do one for ours, but that's just my opinion!

    No, it's really not necessary.

I kept ours very basic, but still ended up spending a decent amount of time on it. I was using it mainly for the RSVP feature, but so far I think only 5 people looked at it. And some of them were forced to: I could hear FH on Skype the other day telling his mum where to go on the website, and where to click. lol

Not worth it if you don't want to do it.

We only had it for parking information. 50% of the guests already knew the area/locations very well, and only about half of the 50% that didn't know even viewed it.
