Is a Wedding Hashtag Necessary?

John Smith, on December 12, 2019 at 11:49 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

We haven't come up with one but I keep seeing cute signs with hashtags.
What's the purpose of the hashtag?

If we need one, we're going to need some help.

Names: Annajoy Thompson and Logan Harris
Met at: The gym at college: he high-fived me.
Wedding Date: July 4, 2020

Thanks!

A hashtag isn't necessary. It's helpful for folks who are big on social media and then guests can tag the pictures they post with the hashtag for the couple to find them all in one place Smiley smile

FH and I aren't big on social media and our guests aren't really either aside from Facebook. I put a note in our FAQ for guests to tag us in photos on Facebook or e-mail them to us.

If you do decide on a hashtag, here are a few if you plan on sharing one of your last names!

    #TakenByThompson

    #ThompsonsTieTheKnot

    #ThompsonsTogetherForever

    #HappilyEverHarris#ToHaveAndToHoldHarris

    #HereComesHarris

They are not required nor a necessity. We had one but I think only a few people used it. Mostly us.

It’s just for social media so all photos and videos end up in one place.

Not necessary but can definitely be fun.

I'm big on pictures & social media so I really wanted a hashtag. I like the ones Amber suggested! In addition, I thought of #TiedToThompson (like tying the knot)

It's definitely not necessary. It just allows you to easily search for all posts/photos your gusts have posted on social media. Another option would be Wedding Wire Guest app or The Guest app.

We didn't have one. Any pictures people took they tagged us in so we didn't see the point of a hashtag.

I don't think it's necessary. It's really better for if you're social media savvy

We didn't have one. Neither of us are that big on social media, so I just didn't feel the need.

I don’t use hashtags, but I think they’re cute. I used what would be my hashtag for my wedding email address. This way I could keep all wedding related information in one spot. It’s been super helpful.
