Is a wedding band a must?

Mrs.Taylor_IsWhatTheyCallMe, on April 10, 2017 at 11:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 38

My fiance' and I got engaged straight out of school and my ring wasn't really my DREAM ring...due to financial reasons.  Since he's the sweetest guy in my world he gifted me with an upgrade.   The one I picked out is aaaammmmaaazzzing, but because of the cut I don't think it would look good with a wedding band.

My question to you ladies is; do I really need a wedding band?  Is it going to take away from the ceremony or special moment of not exchanging bands?  Your thoughts would be so helpful Smiley smile

Not necessary. I know someone that only wears her ering n a coworker that has foregone a ring altogether.

I've seen people move the ering to the right hand and wear a band on the left. But I don't think a band is necessary

Could you just use your engagement ring for the ring exchange? After all you need to still give your fiance his ring.

I dont think a band is necessary. I know some friends who didnt hae them and for the exchange of ring they just took their e ring off and put it for the groom to put on them.

You don't have to. I'm not going to! I think many engagement rings are beautiful just on their own, including yours.

My FMIL only wears one ring, not two. However, FH bought my ring in a set, so I've had a band from the beginning. It's all about your own preference, but I wouldn't stress about it if you truly don't like the idea or can't find one to match it. Your ring is beautiful!

I think this is one of the places where there are no rules and you get to truly do what feels best for you.

And you can always ask your officiant to modify (or remove) the exchange of rings to your liking.

Nope. We're not exchanging rings. I know several couples who haven't.

You don't need a wedding band. You can give your ering and your fhs ring to the best man for the ring exchange.

My Ering is an antique and a really different shape... I love the way it looks by itself and when we bought it I planned on wearing it without a band. When we get married I will give him his ring and he will give me my ering again.

I don't think this is a problem... I've had several friends just use their ering as a wedding ring too.

If you want to exchange rings, just use your e-ring as the ring he gives you. My FSIL did that!

I think you should get one... I have a custom ring which means custom band too .. if its budget keep in mind ... you wear this for the rest of your life .. and the flowers dress ect ... are temporary ... if its not budget get it custom done ...

I don't think wedding bands are super necessary, I know many people who don't wear one at all! I am still going back and forth on whether I really want one. I have picked one out that I like but I think my e-ring is stunning on its own and I don't really need another one to wear with it. Do whatever feels right!

My parents have been married for 30 years and don't have wedding bands. They aren't any less married.

Just make sure your officiant knows you won't be exchanging rings. (Or if you want to do the ceremony, you can have him put the engagement ring on your finger)
