Is a Rehearsal Dinner a must?

Soo, FH & I are on a tight budget and I am not too big on the idea of having a rehearsal dinner. Do you have to have one? Has anyone opted out?

We aren't! we are on a tight budget too so I don't think it's necessary!

Doesn't have to be a fancy deal. We aren't doing an actual rehearsal, but will be doing decorations the nigh before the wedding so we figure just order pizza for folks that come out and help.

I viewed it as a way to show my appreciation for the people helping with the wedding. They did a TON of work. Luckily, MIL and FIL paid for it, which was so nice of them!

If you don't have a rehearsal, I don't think you HAVE to have a rehearsal dinner, but I wouldn't have skipped it.
