Is a reception at Caesar’s Buffet after my small Vegas wedding tacky?

Emily, on September 14, 2018 at 8:21 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
We are planning for a wedding next September in Las Vegas. We are expecting 20-30 people and are trying to keep things pretty cheap. We would like to spend 5,000 max on everything. Nothing is booked yet but we are thinking of having the ceremony at the little church of the west, then renting a party bus and bringing everyone to ceasars for the dinner buffet. We have a diverse mix of dietary preferences and restrictions and this seems like a good way to ensure everyone has something they would like to eat without breaking the bank. I also have some family members who have recently gotten sober and I think a buffet reception would be more casual and less drinking focus. People can drink if they want but if they aren’t drinking, it’s more of a casual restaurant hang as opposed to a dancing reception which can be more drinking heavy. I spoke with ceasars and although our group isn’t big enough to warrant renting out the private room, they can accomadate a party our size and can work with us on any special requests we might have.

After the reception everyone is free to do what they want but we will probably go out dancing somewhere.

I feel like I’ve done a decent job coming up with an itinerary but we have never actually been to Vegas and I’m not sure if my plan is realistic or not. I’m also kind of worried a buffet reception is going to be super tacky although a big part of me feels like I’m already having a tacky Vegas wedding and if people don’t like it, who cares? It’s my day, not theirs. I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts on my plan or could give any insight on whether or not it’s a realistic plan? Any other suggestions that may work better are welcomed. This board has already given me so many great ideas so anything your think might be relevant to me is greatly appreciated!

I do not think its tacky at all. My FH and I go to Vegas every year. The beauty is that you do not have to line a lot of things up. Any casino you walk out of they have party busses limos and taxis lined up and pretty reasonably priced. If you want a buffet the best one I have been to is the one at the Rio. If there is something in particular you need or are looking for in particular. I'm sure we have done it or it is on our list of thing we haven't done yet. Feel free to ask any time.

When I was in a Vegas wedding a few years ago, the reception was at a buffet and I thought it was fun!

I love Vegas buffets! Never been to the one at Caesar's but the one at Mirage is awesome! I'm sure they're all good!

At first I read this as Little Caesars, as in the fast food pizza place, and I was like yeah that’s a little tacky haha. But now that I realise it’s Caesar’s I think it’s kinda fits in with the day! Sounds fun Smiley smile
