We're having a destination wedding in Jamaica, and then having a laid back reception at home. Our venue is pretty cool, it reminds me of a dance club which is great because I'm not really a traditional bride. I am paranoid of people not having a good time though, so I keep trying to think of cool ways to entertain guests. We're already having a photo booth, and dj, but I think a psychic would be pretty cool and unique way to bring a little entertainment. I brought it up to a friend at work, and she immediately said that I shouldn't and it's tacky. I'm just wondering what you wonderful brides are thinking. Thanks!

    I like it. People are going to think what they think about things. I had someone from my school say bbq for weddings makes you trailer trash.

    I say if you want it and think it will be fun then do it.

    It makes me think of a creepy bayou wedding but if it tells me that the groom is my true love and I need to remove the bride, after I hit the open bar of course, then things could be VERY entertaining for everyone.

    It sounds slightly birthday party-ish, but if I didn't have to pay for it, I'd probably give it a whirl. Certainly wouldn't knock a wedding that had one, and it could be fun! I'd just make sure it's tucked away so people aren't tripping on her/him.

    As a Christian, I wouldn't partake in it but I wouldn't say it was tacky. I think good food and music is all you need for wedding, there is no need for extra entertainment.

    How long would it take for each guest to talk to the psychic? If it's more than a few minutes, it might be too distracting/get backed up. Also, is it a solo or group thing? If it's a solo thing, it might keep people from being social.

    I think people should stop worrying about whether something is tacky or not...if you like it then you should have it.

    I think it would be a fun idea for everyone, although I wouldn't be joining in because something about someone seeing my future gives me the heebie-jeebies, lol. Ignorance is bliss for me, lol!
