Is 3 types of centerpieces to much for a reception?

Vanessa, on May 24, 2011 at 11:54 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 17

I will be having 30 tables of 10 at my reception so I was wondering if 3 different styles of centerpieces would be ok. I dont have pictures on this computer but one will be a tall vase with fresh flowers (roses) at the top another will be the three vases different sizes with the roses inside of them and the last one that I saw that I loved was the 3 sets of the 3 picture frames in a rectangle shape with the roses pedals around them. What do you think?

I think its going to depend how you arrange them on the floor plan. Pics will be helpful.

I think it's great to mix things up a little. 30 sets of the same thing is ok, but I think the 3 sets of 10 will be fun!

I read somewhere that it is best to use different centerpieces to balance out the room. And not to use eye level centerpieces cause you don't want the guest to not be able to converse across the table.

I've photographed weddings where the centerpieces are all unique, it's so fun! I'd go for it.

I think mixing it up is a good idea, as long as the centerpieces coordinate with each other. Without pictures, it's hard to tell. But the picture frames souns a bit out of place (on paper). Try to get some pictures of the three together if you can- so you can see if you like them together.

We did that with our centerpieces of various sizes vases (3) & flowers (& grass) in each & had a picture frame housing each table number.

Obviously, I concur with the mixing it up is fun, interesting & very modern idea.

Our centerpiece/favor will be individually potted flowers, 8 to a table of 8 guests. Different tables will have different types of flowers. These will be flanked by candles, some etched w/couples names, some beautiful green lanterns, some votives...

Each table will be slightly unique, but each will be beautiful :-)

I love the idea of different centerpieces. I have no idea what mine will be but I know they won't all be the same!

With 30 tables, 3 different centerpieces will be fine, especially if you incorporate similar parts (such as the same type of flower) in all 3 designs. If you were only having 10 tables, I'd say it would be too much.

I love the idea of the 3 centerpeices, but like Meghan B, when I read it the picture frame one seemed out of place. Without a picture it's hard to tell and in such a big room might not be a big deal but it did make me go hmmm. Post pics when you can! I'd love to see them.

3 diff. centerpieces is a great idea to mix it up, but there should be some sort of cohesion to tie them together. Like I had two VERY diff. ideas when talking to the florist and she was like "you could do both and we'll just do them on different tables!" but then suggested a little touch to make the one centerpiece tie into the centerpiece used on other tables, since they really were completely not matching other than color (I couldn't have envisioned that w/o her, even though it was such a simple addition).

I agree with Amy W. though -- 30 tables is a lot and I think a little variety like that wil make it really special/beautiful and add that "wow" factor I'm sure you're looking for. :-D

I agree with all the other ladies here. go for it. and since you're going with roses for all three centerpieces, it will tie everything together. or you can even mix it up so that you can have more variations of the same theme?
