Inviting coworkers to wedding

Anna, on August 21, 2019 at 4:31 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10
There are about 8 coworkers who I will be inviting to my wedding along with their partners/ spouses. Although we are not close, I am inviting them because it is within my budget, I spent 5 days a week with these people, and they have all either taken an interest in my wedding details or helped celebrate my engagement at work. My question is... should I ask for their addresses to send the STDs and invites or just hand them my invites when the time comes?

I think it depends on your work environment. If you work in a small office and you’re inviting some but not others I would probably just ask for addresses to avoid anyone feeling awkward. We invited a number of people from work but sent invites in the mail because we weren’t inviting everyone and wanted to avoid anyone feeling uncomfortable. If you’re inviting everyone you work with or think no feelings would be hurt Id save the stamp money and hand deliver the save the date at least!

I work in a small office. I only have 1 co worker who I dislike, she only works for us part time as an accountant. I am just going to hand save the dates out to everyone, including her. It would be weird of me to just exclude her. I'm hoping she just declines lol!

I would personally wait to give it to them at work. Most likely they know the date anyway since you say you talk about your wedding/engagement at work. I wouldn’t stress about it 😌

I would hand deliver since you're inviting all of them!

There's a lot of people in my office and I'm only inviting the 4 coworkers that I'm close with. I just mailed their STDs and invites to avoid any awkward situations lol

I might hand deliver save the dates, but I’d probably collect addresses and mail the invites when the time comes — 1 to make sure they formally RSVP, and 2 to have their addresses for thank you cards

My whole department was displaced, but I was planning to hand deliver anyway.

I sent those that were invited an e-mail re: do NOT discuss as everyone was NOT invited.
