Inviting Co-workers?? Feel Pressure?

Do you feel obligated to invite people or "representatives" from your office or place of business?? Someone asked me if I was inviting people from work and I just said, "This gonna be all family and very close friends." I've only been in this position for a year and a half and don't really know them...

We've had co-worker's kids get married and they invite 5 to 10 people from work. Kind of makes me glad my mom is retired. lol

Do you fee like you have to invite your boss or co-workers??

I invited at work my supervisor and the office director. I think that is courtesy to maybe invite your supervisor as far as anyone else, I don't really think you have to at all. What I have learned with this wedding, someone will always feel left out and there is really no way to control that. It is your day and you need to have the people you are comfortable with to celebrate your day

I definitely don't feel obligated to invite anyone from work even though I've been here for almost 5 years....I am a bit close to my team i have known all of them for almost 1 year but I'm not obligated to invite them because someone has to be there to support our customers and if I'm not here they need to be

I work in a department of 30 ppl and, while I'm friendly with all of them, there are only a few that I will be inviting. The co-workers that I see socially outside of work and the direct attorneys I work for. My supervisor is the interesting part - I only see her 2x per year so I don't *think* I'll be inviting her -- but I haven't made up my mind yet.

@Yardiegirl I agree with Brides.com. I haven't discussed anything about my wedding at work. I don't even wear my ring to work. I don't want to feel obligated to invite my boss or anyone else. I have never ever sepent time with anyone out side of the office, I haven't even attend the christmas party. I truly want this day to be about the new life we are starting and I want people in my corner who will wish me well and always have my back because they truly know us.

I have been at the hotel for 2.5 years I think i am inviting 4 people from work. My only worry is who there plus 1 will be. becasue there are co workers that i do not want there. the ones that i choose are people that i work with on a daily basis and we are like a small family....

It all depends on your relationship with them. I'm very close to most of my coworkers, so about half of them will get invited, including my manager and assistant manager. Like, a lot of us hang out outside of work on a regular basis. If you're not that close with them, i wouldn't bother.

I honestly have been telling ALL my co-workers that they are on the B-list due to Fh and I having VERY large families... My co-workers have been VERY supportive of this decision, my boss- not as much.

I am gonna stick with this though- Fi I get 16 No's then the whole clan is invited... otherwise I might try to sneak in 1 or 2 of my favorites that I know can keep a secret...
