Invite Wording- Venue

Kora, on September 9, 2019 at 3:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
So I know there is a way to word this but my brain is on overload!

Our venue is not paved and has woodchips to walk on. How would we write that on our invite? To make sure the girls do not wear there best stilettos haha
Thank you!!

We got married on grass and had cocktail hour and dinner on cobblestone. We didn’t put anything on our invitation but put that info on our FAQ page of our wedding website so people could choose to do with that info what they wanted.

I'd put it on a details card not the actual invite but maybe something like
"Please be aware there is uneven ground at the venue which may not be suitable for high heels" ?

I'm not sure I would put it on the invitation, but our website clearly states that our wedding and reception will be indoor/outdoor at the beach. Once you let people know an event is at least partially outside, the high heels tend to get placed back on the shoe rack.

I wouldn't put that info on the invite, but instead on the wedding website with the dress code info. I would say something like "Due to the format of our venue, we advise our guests to wear sensible shoes as the walkways are not paved (ex. stiletto heels should be avoided if possible)". If you plan on having a "Contact Us" part of your wedding website, you can say "If you have any questions about this, please feel free to email/text/call us."

I would include this on a details card & your wedding website. Something small like "Please wear shoes for walking on woodchips and dirt, to be as comfortable as you can at our venue."

We put this on our website in the details section:
“We also want to note: This is a backyard/beach event. While we welcome you to dress as formally as you like, perhaps not the best time to break out the stilettos. Be prepared for sand and salt water air.”

We were just invited to a wedding with a similar situation. I'm copying/pasting their wording!

"Please choose your shoes wisely and consider the grass, gravel, and polished cement settings

where we will be celebrating our special day."

We put the following on our website and trust any guest that is interested in exploring the trails can plan accordingly: “Please note, trails are a mix of hard-pack and gravel.”
