Invite wedding team to rehearsal dinner?

Aurora, on August 12, 2019 at 4:33 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Hi all!

Photographer, only hired for wedding day, but is traveling 10 hours to our destination wedding. Would it be a nice gesture to invite him to the dinner? Or is that weird? He did our engagement shoot and we are friends on social media. He also will be photographing a full day the next day on our wedding which is up to 12 hours and again thought that would be a considerate gesture considering his travel and hours he is working.

Wedding planner- She will be at rehearsal so she will get a meal right after at the dinner, correct? Her husband is a DJ at our wedding, he isn't part of the rehearsal but would we invite him too because we are inviting her and that's considerate since they are a couple and both contributing to our wedding?

Officiant-will be at rehearsal, do we invite him to dinner?

Hotel event coordinator for our wedding- I'd assume she's be working and wouldn't be invited to dinner where she works right? Or am I wrong?

Thanks in advance!

I would invite the wedding planner and the officiant.
Unless the Photographer is a friend of some sort, his travel is not your concern. Besides you probably paid for the travel, unless he is a friend.
I would not invite the hotel event coordinator.

We are not inviting our photographer to the dinner, we are providing him & his wife with a vendor meal.

We are not inviting our DOC to the rehearsal dinner - we have exactly 30 mins to practice before we have to leave as they have a wedding that day that she is also the DOC for.

The officiant - we are inviting her & her husband to the rehearsal dinner.

We are not providing any vendor meals to anyone that is with the venue (this includes DOC, server & bartender).
We are also including vendor meals for DJ, photo booth person, and abovementioned photographer.

Sorry I am a newbie with terminology, how do you provide the vendor meal to the DJ, photographer, etc? How do you let them know and set that up for them to get the vendor meal? Is this on day of wedding?

No worries - we were all newbies at one time & there are tons of terminology, Welcome to wedding wire.
So for the rehearsal dinner I would only invite the officiant & the their spouse. I didn’t invite the DOC Day of Coordinator.

For the wedding I would check with the venue. Our venue is all inclusive @ the per person cost is $120. However they also order venue meals ($27 for sandwiches, $40 for chicken dish) that we are able to provide our vendors. This is what we will be doing for our DJ, photographer, photo booth attendee. Our servers, bartender & DOC came w/ the venue & does not receive vender meals. Smiley winking
