Invite Wed Day Hair Stylist if my stylist for 8 yrs.?

KristyTheBride, on March 5, 2017 at 9:24 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

Hi, I have an amazing stylist doing my wedding day hair - but should she get an invite? My FH & I have both been going to her for 8 years. We don't go out socially, just see her at salon. Weird to have her style my hair then she has to leave?

Thanks, everyone!

I invited my two hair stylists (current and past) to our wedding. She should definitely get an invitation.

I think it's really up to you and what you're relationship with her is. I've been seeing the same stylist for about ten years or so, and my entire family on my mom's side sees her. I feel like she's almost part of our family and definitely plan on inviting her.

I agree that it depends on the relationship you have with her. If you want her to be there then invite her, but don't do it because you feel like you should.

I am a bridal hairstylist! Honestly, I feel like it is enough of an honor to be asked to do my client's hair for such a huge life event, and I have never once expected to be invited to the ceremony. I know I'll usually hear all about it and see all of the pictures at your next appointmentSmiley winking

My hairstylist for the last 6-7 years is doing my hair for my wedding. I plan on sending her an invite. 1) because she's a good friend also and 2) she's going to be at the venue up until the time the ceremony starts so I didn't want her to feel weird just having to leave right before everything starts.

Of course you can invite her (and her SO). However, don't be offended if she declines. We are invited to attend about 40% of the weddings we service, but we always decline. No offense...we just want to go home when the work day is done, lol.

I'm in the same boat and I'm inviting mine, but our families have been very close for a long time. We're meeting at the salon the morning of for her to style my hair and then she will come as a guest for the actual wedding that afternoon.

My bride ended up hiring my sister in law to do the wedding hair and we just agreed that she'd be my plus one to the wedding. (I'm the MOH.) She wanted to support someone close and since it's out of town my SIL is staying with me the night before and the night after so she doesn't have to drive anywhere and can be on hand for any fashion emergencies the day of. I think it really just depends on the circumstances.

Thanks, everyone! FH & I talked it over & we'll def. be sending her an invitation. No offense taken if she chooses to decline - but she's def. more a friend than a "business association"!

Appreciate all the feedback! Happy Weddings, all, & thank you, stylists, too!

I invited my hairstylist! She has been my stylist and my mom's stylist for about 15 years! I say go for it. We all have fun when we get our hair done and practically make a whole day out of it! :-)
