Is it okay not to send save the dates. I’m just going to send invitations only

That’s fine! STD are not mandatory. If it’s a DW though, I would give people a heads up so they can plan things out.

Totally fine! If any guests are coming a very long way, it might be good to let them know a bit earlier as travel and accommodation is cheaper to book in advance, though.

Yes. I didn't send save the dates and I'm having a Friday wedding. We told people our date and that was it.

That's perfectly fine! I would send them out a month or two earlier than they normally get sent to give people more notice.

Save the dates was a regret for us lol. It wasn't necessary and everyone thought it was the invitation so annoying lol

I just told people the date. Everyone wrote it down so I'm not worried about save the dates. Just seems a little bit of a waste of money. I would just send the invites out a little earlier than usual to make sure no one forgets.

    Yes totally!

save the dates are one of those things that are not really necessary. they are kind of nice to have though just because it lets people already know when to clear their schedules but if it's people you already talk to a lot then it's ok if you tell them in conversation ahead of invites too if you want. i did that, i didn't have save the dates but i just told everyone i wanted to invite when i had casual conversation with them that we finally booked our date

That’s what we did! Our invitations went out this week for our October wedding. Save the dates are optional and honestly I’d rather spend that money on something else in the budget.

I didn't send save the dates because everyone who will be invited is family or close friends and they already know the wedding date and those who needed to schedule off way more in advance than others have already been informed of the date as well as put their request off in.

Like PPs said, Save the Dates def aren't required! You can save some money in the process, too!

I think that's fine as long as everyone has enough time in advanced to take off work and things like that. Save the dates to me are really just an added bonus and like an announcement of the engagement.

Hi Shatara! Have you sent out your invites yet? Did you get them made or make them yourself? I'd love to see them Smiley smile
