Invitations for postponed wedding

Crystalkb78, on March 31, 2020 at 10:55 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
Our wedding was scheduled for May 30th. We found out last Saturday we would have to postpone. I was literally on the phone with my planner when the doorbell rang and my invites were delivered. I was heartbroken to say the least. We have rescheduled for May 1st 2021. My question is does anyone have any ideas on being able to use these invites without them looking terrible? I love them and hate to have to spend another $400. I contacted the company to see if they had any ideas, they directed me to their site page for “change the date” cards but I haven’t sent mine out. So confused on what to do. Hope you are all well.

The actual invitations you will have to get new ones, but you should be able to reuse any inserts like reply cards. I would also recommend letting your guests know as quickly as possible that your date has changed.

Thank you, the guests have all been notified, with about 80% of them traveling we made that a priority. I was hoping someone (more creative than I) had maybe came up with a way to still use them 😢 even the response cards will have the wrong date.

Oh no! I'm so very sorry. What if you did electronic RSVPing instead that way you don't have to buy all new response cards? If you don't like that option you could order cheaper reply cards that are just like plain white that would still fit in the envelopes that you've already purchased. As for the actual invitations, I'm not sure how you would modify them to have the correct date.

I'm not sure if this will be helpful. But Ann's Bridal Bargains has super inexpensive invites. We purchased ours from there. They were $113 for 125 invites. I know you probably really love your invites but if you are looking to save some money on them Ann's is super reasonable.

I guess it depends on how your invites are. I plan to literally sharpie the new date on mine cuz I don't care that much. You could also do a label with the new date and sticker it right over the old date?

A few people have suggested the sharpie route to me as well. If I had someone with better handwriting skills than mine, I would consider it. Labels may be the way to go.

A belly band with the new date should work. Place it so it covers the old date.

A belly band over the old date would work. And still use the invites that you love... A strip of paper over the rsvp date will work also.
