Invitation Goofs - What Did You Do or Not Do?

I just realized I forgot to put the dress code on my invitations. To compensate I am adding it to my website but gosh darn I don't know how I forgot to do that. What did you do or didn't do that made you say "doh!" after the fact?

I had "formal dress" written on the bottom of our invites - I ordered them before realizing it was kind of rude to do so, but honestly didn't want to reprint them. I still had a guy show up in a t-shirt. And not a kid - a middle-aged man whose sons both got married recently, so I'm pretty sure he knew how to dress for a wedding.

If people want to be asses, a dress code isn't going to stop them.

I forgot my dress code too. I also put directions to my ceremony and venue, and then the state decided to change all the signs, the exit numbers are still the same but the headings for the signs have changed. ugh...

I also thought i was being clever by ordering the CHEAPER post card version of my RSVP and directions cards.... just found out the post card verison is shiny and not matte like the invite. UGH!! still debating since those were big mistakes and i still have time, if its worth it to change & do them over..

I should have out my RSVP options in another order. Like "number of guests attending" should be second and indented. Lots of guests are neglecting it. In my defense, I copied the template from an invitation site. Sigh...

I misspelled some names on our Save the Dates - which I only take partial blame for because I asked FH AND my mother to check their people's names before I sent them out. Hopefully that will be my biggest mistake.

The only time I recall seeing a dress code on an invitation was for a wedding where the groom was Indian, but they were not doing a full Indian ceremony. The note simply said 'Indian attire welcome.' I thought that was appropriate given the circumstance.

I forgot to put our website on our invitations so I ordered address labels with our website on them instead of address. I stuck a label on the back of each invitation. I kind of like that it's not on the front anyway now. So it worked out.

Although I wonder if anyone will even look at the back. But I guess it probably wouldn't matter if it were on the front either. It was on the front of our STDs and apparently no one goes to the site anyway. I keep getting asked questions that are already answered on the site from people who got STDs.

I forgot the M__________________ line on my RSVP and only put the yes Ill attend, or no I cant be there...

should I just write the guest names on there or M_____________ before I send them out?

how else would I know who said yes if the card happens to get separated from the envelope?

    EEEEEEKKK so frazzled

and BTW... I DID not put anything about attire in my invite either I had no clue that was even a thing.. as long as my guests are there... I mean most people would know the proper dress for a wedding anyway youd think... just my 2 cents on that one
