Intoxication on your big day

Will you guys be drinking at your reception? My family keeps telling me I shouldn’t at all. Which is upsetting, I want to have fun! I’m not trying to get sloppy drunk, will you guys be opting out of drinking?

My FH hardly ever drinks, so I imagine he’ll have a beer at the reception and I’ll have a glass of wine or two. I definitely don’t want to get drunk, but I don’t see the harm in a drink or two.

I'll be drinking! We had a teensy wedding in June (fewer than 10 people) and we're having a big ceremony this May. In June, I was busy and stressed out before the wedding; afterwards, I was very tired, so I didn't drink much at all that day. But for the big wedding, we'll have an open bar and if I have the time, I'll definitely have a few drinks.

They should not be telling you what to do. Its your big day. Enjoy and tell them to monitor their own alcohol intake

    Hi Carolina!
I will not be. I’m generally not a drinker and if I do one drink limit. Having. 1 or 2 drinks is not bad. To get inebriated on your wedding after years and or months of planning your big day you want to take it all in see and remember as much detail as possible. Just my suggestion.

I had one glass of champagne at the reception and my husband had one glass of champagne and some kind of fancy whiskey with his boys (one glass). I’m a lightweight and would not have wanted to feel buzzed and fuzzy that day or night- plus our honeymoon flight was at 6 am the next morning.
I think drinking some to party with your guests is perfectly fine- just don’t be the drunk bride who embarrasses herself and ends up on YouTube!

I'm a social drinker so I don't get sloppy drunk but we are having a shyt load of choices.

Beer [2 kegs] Wine Mixed Drinks and Trash Can punch [disguised in a cute beverage dispenser] gotta keep it classy, LOL!

It's your wedding, not theirs. I've never been to a dry wedding, though I know they're a thing for some people.

We will absolutely be enjoying a few drinks at our own wedding!

As much as I am paying for an open bar - you best believe I will drink what and when I want to!! Of course I won't be sloshy, but I can care less what others think or approve of at MY wedding!

I definitely plan on drinking but know I need to take it slow, plan on drinking 1 or 2 bottles of water for every alcoholic drink I have. I will have to pee alot but oh well.

I’ll definitely be drinking! Before the ceremony even. My nerves will be off the charts, especially since the fiancé insists we write our own vows. I hate attention and public speaking. Sounds terrifying to me, actually. Since I don’t have Xanax or any of the other things people use to calm down, drinks it’ll be! 😂
