Instrumental Wedding Music

Konichiwa, on December 18, 2009 at 3:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

Hey ladies, I've been thinking that it would be nice to find some instrumental versions of songs that I like to play for various parts of our wedding ceremony. I was googling away and stumbled across this site http://www.pianoreimagined.com/ This guy has tons of wedding songs as well as lots of contemporary music done with piano! I had to share! Anyone else using or wanting instrumental versions of songs for your wedding? Any of you have sites that are good for finding this type of music?

I'm stuck on what to play for ours! Lol. I love country (FH hates it) and pop (FH hates it) and rock (FH hates it lol) and FH loves alternative stuff like Coldplay and these random foreign bands like Dark Sanctuary (a French group). I like the sound of a lot of Dark Santuary's songs, but they are all in French haha and I don't think that goes very well with country so I'm at a loss for what to play!

FYI the site I mentioned above has piano instrumental versions of Coldplay and lots of country songs. Look on the wedding albums and listen, they are from country songs but since there are no words and its only piano they may be a good compromise for the two of you!

We are also doing alot of just instrumental music for our ceremony, we're not having anyone sing while we do our unity candle. im finding youtube to be very helpful, ive just been typing in names of songs followed by "piano version" after it. theres a lot of talented people on there and it helped me pick our music. for example, im walking down the aisle to "all i ask of you" from phantom of the opera, piano version, its so beautiful. i recommend listening to it.

Yes, Kellee, that's a great site for piano wedding music. Some brides/grooms also prefer strings, brass, woodwinds, organ, and my favorite, harp.

@ Michelle-thanks for those sites! I'm always looking for instrumental versions of songs!

@ Dr DJ-Harp is so classic and elegant for weddings! There are a few here in Tucson and I did consider hiring one to play live for the ceremony but it ended up not in the budget =(

I really like his CD! Do you think it would be too slow to play this for part of the cocktail hour?! Just kind of looking for some light background music, but I don't want it classified as elevator music!

Thanks guys! I'll be sure to check out Vitamin String Quartet and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra!

@ Loveat1stsite~I personally don't think it would be bad to play at the cocktail hour. Most of the songs are kinda slow but most of them are songs people will recognize!
