Inexpensive Wedding Venues in SoCal??

Marissa, on October 17, 2011 at 11:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

I need help! My FH and I are paying for our own wedding. Originally we really wanted to get married in Santa Barbara (where he proposed) but after visiting a few venues I wasn't convinced that I wanted to spend that much money on a wedding plus a lot of places end at 10:30 or 11pm!! We just bought a home in April and would like to do a few things to our new place but also go on a kick ass honeymoon (ei. Fiji or Greece).

Now we're thinking I would like to spend closer to $50 per person (including tax & tip), only invite around 100 guests, and have it on a Friday. We are expanding our options to the LA area (where we're from), Palm Springs, and considering private homes or estates. Does any one have any leads?

Any lead would help!! REALLY!

*We really like Spanish and rustic styles.

I've heard good things about the value for price of this place around different sites: http://www.the-hacienda.com/TheHacienda/PhotoGallery/tabid/73/Default.aspx

I think it's in your range as long as the prices haven't jumped.

Funny - I was just in a wedding there last month. It was beautiful but I believe they paid $80 per person. Thanks anyway! Smiley smile

My wedding was in Santa Barbara. We had our 100 person reception at the UCSB faculty club, which was lovely! Linda Ruskaa was an amazing contact. The food was good, the service good, and it was perfect for us. Then again, we are both UCSB alumni so we got the alumni discount. Maybe not quite what you are looking for, but that was my experience.

Hey Marissa , we're actually getting married in Santa Barbara and decided to hold our reception at a restaurant called Stella Mares. We reserved the green house that only seats 50 if you're having a small intimate wedding and the prices start at $45 dollars a person. It's a 3 course meal and right next to the bird refuge thats gorgeous. Have you guys looked into San Diego?

I work in a few different locations between L.A. and Santa Barbara, so here are some suggestions for you:

The Tuscan Villa Estate in Simi Valley

    Hartley's Botanica in Somis

    Maravilla Gardens in Camarillo

    Pierpont Inn in Ventura

    Courtyard Marriott in Oxnard

Scarlet Belle harbor cruise in Oxnard

Some of my favorite venues include:

Woodranch Golf Course in Simi Valley

The Vineyards in Simi Valley (gorgeous location)

I'm also doing a wedding this weekend in SB... at a place called El Paseo restaurant. I've never been... but I can report after this weekend.

Let me know if I can help in any way!

Marrissa, have your tried the JACCC in Los Angeles, CA? Check them out. You can get a good deal but you speak with Anne or Janet. See what they come up with. Good Luck Smiley smile
