Inexpensive Wedding Venue Help In South Florida

anita, on October 10, 2013 at 12:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

I need HELP! I currently live in Atlanta, Georgia. I'm trying to plan a wedding in South Florida for next September! (My family and my fiance's family live in South Florida) Its very hard to find a perfect venue when you live in another state. I am on a tight budget. I would like the wedding ceremony to by outside, the reception inside (ballroom would be nice) I'm looking for a hidden gem. PLEASE HELP!

The cities I am looking at: Stuart, Boca Raton, Delray, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood Beach, Fort Myers, Hollywood - Seminole Indian reservation, Miami, Naples. I'm trying to be as broad as possible.

I'm not familiar with those areas in particular, but a quick Google search should yield quite a few!

You can do a vendor search here on WW, Anita.

Filter as to number of guests, budget, etc.

I'm getting married at the Stranahan House in Fort Lauderdale ... Not sure what your budget is but the rental rate is reasonable for a beautiful, historic property right off Las Olas in the heart of downtown. We are having our ceremony on the river and the reception under the tent behind the house. I also went to a wedding a few years ago at the Women's Club in downtown Stuart and it is a very charming property. Jupiter Lighthouse is amazing too, but I think they only host ceremonies, so you would have to have your reception elsewhere.

I'm getting married at The Shane Center in Miami Beach. The ceremony space is outdoors on a terrace but you can move it inside for backup in case of weather issues. Reception space is indoors and really lovely. Kind of a blank slate so you can decorate however you want though it doesn't need much.

You can rent the entire venue or just partial rooms (we're renting 2 of 3 rooms sine our guest list is less than 100 people). We paid $2500 to rent the rooms, $700 security deposit, $120 for an off duty police officer that we're required to have since the venue is owned by the city. Up lighting is included. You can pay extra for chandeliers, red carpet or draping of the entrance, and other misc things. The venue coordinator, Diana, is a dream to work with. I've been very pleased, it's a great venue. www.shanecenter.com

    Good luck in your search!

I am getting married in Jungle Island in Miami, it is all inclusive venue, which might work for you since you don't have to worry about food, drinks, linens, and such...Ceremony will be outdoor and the ballroom is gorgeous!!
