Savvy October 2022

Inexpensive venues

Cheyenne, on December 5, 2020 at 9:18 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
Hi ladies! I'm getting married October 28, 2022. I plan on sitting down with some of my options and discussing with my fiance about what will fit us and not break the bank. While I have found a few okay priced venues on WeddingWire, im asking if anyone has any other ways of finding cheaper venues maybe even event centers for a wedding ceremony? I plan on having my reception at a family home.

Other than traditional wedding venues, check out some non-traditional venues such as a local park or an aquarium or a winery!

I'm guessing you mean for a ceremony since you already have a place for your reception. Most traditional venues require the reception to be host there unless you get married at like a park or church. Receptions are honestly where most venues make their money hence why more traditional venues require the reception to be hosted there.

I recommend doing the ceremony on someone's property outdoors if the wrather permits. Other Affordable options may be a church or renting out an art gallery or yoga studio.

Check country clubs in your area. In mine they were really affordable and cheaper than hotels I felt. See if facebook has a wedding group for your area. Side note we got married at a bed and breakfast that caters to weddings and even my photographers were floored with the look of it so that is an option.

The parks department is the cheapest option. Otherwise try peerspace.com and eventective.com for ideas.

My fiancé and I are having the ceremony at a national park! 250$ for the venue (could be cheaper but we’re booking for an extra hour for set up/clean up) if you’re okay with an outdoor wedding there are a lot more options

If you or FH have any family members in the military, sometimes you can book an armory/training facility for free. In my hometown, we booked the local National Guard armory for my dad's memorial service and didn't pay a dime. You would have to do all the setting up/tearing down, cleaning, etc but the actual building itself would likely be either free or very inexpensive. Ours has a very large area where you could do a ceremony and reception.
