Inexpensive Venues in Maryland and DC area help!!!

Dana, on February 9, 2017 at 8:10 AM Posted in Maryland Planning 6 48

I'm trying to find an inexpensive but nice venue in the Maryland D.C. Area. It's been really hard to find anything under 4000. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What are you wanting the 4k to cover? Just venue or food/rentals/etc?

We are using Beefalo. Bob reflections Banquet Hall, it's all inclusive, beautiful, and the prices are very reasonable. We are hosting 90 people for $7,000. That includes food and open bar.

Our venue is less than 4000...Clarendon ballroom - it's been an amazing planning experience too!

I'm just looking for a venue. Catering included would be nice but isn't necessary. I've found a few venues I liked but they do exclusive catering that were like 65 bucks a plate.

$65 pp in that area is very cheap. What type of venue are you looking for?

I have trouble finding any I liked in the DC area. Hotel weddings start around 20k. You could do a lodge like VFW or properties owned by park systems (Fairfax had some neat ones) but you'd have to peicemeal everything else.

We ended up going 2.5 hours away and found something beautiful and in our price range.

Long Green Gardens Banquet Hall - Would be DIY but is big, nice and can do what you want. About $2500

Inn at Colannade in Baltimore is reasonably priced, all inclusive

I would like to do an outdoor wedding. I can do it a little further away if needed. 65 dollars per plate is a bit much for us since we have to fly family members in for the wedding.

I'm getting married at Rockfield Manor in Bel Air, MD. It's $2,000 to rent (tax deductible since it's a nonprofit historical site), has multiple ceremony locations, and the catering isn't too expensive. For 50p buffet ours is slightly over $3,000.

I thought venues under $4000 would be easy to find in our area because my venue was only $2500 (tables, chairs, linens included) and then we have to use their catering. Our venue is Piedmont Club in Haymarket. . When my sister got engaged and started looking she was going for venues where you have to hire a separate caterer and so many started at $6500+! She booked The Inn at Old Silk Mill in Fredericksburg and her venue fee was about $5000 but she has a wedding coordinator included in that price. There are places in your price range, The Inn at Vint Hill comes to mind right away.

@jillian Omg yay!!!! I love it! I hate that their only time for rehearsals is Thursdays at noon, but other than that I love this place!

There's also the Liriodendron in Bel Air that's pretty inexpensive and has a bunch of different ceremony and reception options and there's a B&B in Havre de Grace, MD called The Vandiver Inn. Both gorgeous and inexpensive spots.

Not sure what you want 4k to include, but we looked at The Other Barn in Columbia and liked it, I think it was 1500 including tables and linens and the space but nothing else. We went with a different place just because we somewhere that did catering onsite but The Other Barn was nice.

I'm an MD bride too! Have you looked at Thorpewood/Mountain Memories in Thurmont? Very beautiful outdoor space and you get the property for something like 10 hours. They're right at the top of your budget, but there's some wiggle room depending if you have it on a Saturday or Sunday!
