I wouldn't know from personal experience but I looked into the La Luna banquet hall. It seems pretty nice but it's about an hour from Chester county. Not sure how far you'd wanna drive to get there though.

Are there any nature centers run by parks and rec? They are usually affordable in most regions.

Hi Aryn, welcome to WW! Make sure to upload a picture for your avatar (instead of the default icons) so that we can get to know you and tell you apart from all the other posters. You can do this on a desktop computer under My Settings and Profile and Privacy Settings.

Have you looked through the WW vendor search yet? That's the best place to find vendors and read reviews from past clients:

We went to a wedding at the Duportail House in Chesterbrook and it was absolutely lovely- one of the best times we've had at a wedding! Everything took place outside, but they also had an indoor contingency plan in case of rain. I'm not sure about pricing, but know the couple paid themselves on a student budget, so it's probably worth checking out!

Those are great ideas. Is Delaware an option for you? No taxes!

I was born in Chesco and went to school atdub c when I was an undergrad. Hmm... There are a bunch of hotels, Hibernia mansion, the VFW, camp at the old mill, west Chester university.

I'd contact Rev. Judith Quash (she is here). She is an independent officiant in PA, and she works in all kinds of interesting places. Look into your park systems, colleges, museums, gardens.

Okay here is my long list of venues thanks to operating out of Chester County.

Valley Forge National Park/Washington Memorial Chapel/ Philander Chase Knox Estate- All three are beautiful in their creation and have rolling vistas right outside their doors, the downside is the park is always populated so there is a running risk of not being able to get space.

Faunbrook Inn, West Chester- The owner Lori is a sweetheart and has a beautiful property with lots of room for events. She can host up to 100 guest and her prices run from $900-7000.

High Street Caffe, West Chester- They just recently started booking wedding receptions, previously they did rehearsal dinners.

Chester County Historical Society, West Chester- In close proximity to the Hotel Warner, walking distance. An old turn of the century house with a lot of interesting things.

Bistro on 10, Honey Brook- An old colleague used to work there as a chef, they have a quaint outdoor garden that can be outfitted for weddings.

West Chester University, WC- The Phillips Memorial Hall has the autograph library, also many of the older buildings have some beautiful work. Downside is college kids are sometimes not the brightest.

Hibernia Mansion, Coatesville/Honeybrook- Nice outside, but subject to the weather.

Coatesville Country Club, Coatesville- Beautiful, with a balcony off of the dance floor and a hand carved bar that is stunning.

West Chester Country Club, WC- Not my favorite because of it's location but I've heard good things.

Thorndale Inn, Thorndale- Beautiful interior and has space for about 50 people and a small dancefloor.

Message me if you have any questions!

Have you looked at any venues http://jamcater.com/ ?

I am getting married at one of the venues and i LOVE them. We also recently had our tasting and it was honestly some of the best food I've ever had. They have a lot of different venues. I would definitely look into one of those. All of their venues (we looked at 3) are GORGEOUS and I've heard the food at the wedding from guests points of view are some of the best meals. All fresh food. And you get a wedding planner with the venue!

Try Partyspace.com if you don't see anything you like!
