Hey y’all! I’m the maid of honor for my best friend’s wedding which is in 10 weeks. We were looking for ideas and suggestions for decorating. It’s a cocktail style reception. First picture is the outdoor patio which we may or may not use depending on weather. We were specifically looking for ideas to decorate the brick wall. It’s about 40 people in attendance. Any all ideas are welcome!

The brick wall is really nice and I don’t think that it needs decorating. The pic is showing a blank room. So the wall stands out more. But after the room is filled, everything will look great. But what is the style of the wedding and what decor is already being used in that room? Knowing that will help with offering suggestions.

Uplighting would look amazing on that wall.

That room is gorgeous and I agree with the others above. You could also do a backdrop for a photo area. Just look up ideas on Pinterest

This is the opposing wall to the brick wall. I believe this would need decorating. It is a micro wedding and fairly simple. We’re having cocktail tables around the room, a bar area that’s self serve which we will be decorating. Main themes would be floral and lights and a modern style. Up lighting is definitely something we need to look into. Follow up question to that though, would that mean string lights and if so would it have to cover the whole wall?

We definitely were thinking of doing a backdrop for photos! Do you think it would be better to do that against the white wall or the brick wall?

Style is Modern, floral and lights. We’re still kinda up in the air about decor and looking for ideas. So far there will be an arch for the ceremony in front of the glass doors, chairs. We will have everyone grab a drink and head to the patio while we set up the ceremony to a reception which will be cocktail style.

Uplighting is different to string lights - you have lights every 2-3 metres along the wall (usually these days they’re battery powered so no cables) right against it, pointing upwards. Looks like this (but you can pick your colour):

That opposite wall I’d be inclined to hide - pipe and drape is the easiest way to do it.
