Anyone planning an Indian and catholic fusion wedding near Indy?

    My catholic son and Indian dil were married in two ceremonies in Chicago. Two dates, two rituals. It's hard to fuse the two. Good luck--I look forward to your bam Smiley smile

    We do a lot of fusion weddings that include elements from both traditions in one ceremony, but oddly enough, it's harder to include the Catholic side. Many of the parts of a Catholic ceremony can't really be simulated outside a church setting; communion for one. Of course, you can include readings, but even though people think the unity candle is a Catholic ritual element, it's not. It's not even admissible for many parishes.

    One of my couples did a full Indian ceremony the day before, a very short, mildly religious ceremony on the day of the full reception and then had their ceremony blessed in the church afterwards.

    Congratulations! My fiancé is Hindi as well. We aren’t doing full traditional however I’m trying to incorporate things here and there. We are getting married in June.
