I'm going to hulk smash Fedex if they keep holding my wedding gifts hostage!

Chelle, on April 23, 2013 at 3:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 21

Word of warning, if you register for a Sodastream and someone awesome buys it for you, tell them not to ship it. Apparently it is considered hazardous material because apparently carbon dioxide which we expel from our lungs everyday is considered dangerous!

Now it's not fedex's fault that I work during the week and can't be home to sign for the package, but it is fedex's fault that every time I call to try and figure out how I can get this thing, they give me a different answer. HULK SMASH!

    If you have the tracking number you should be able to go online and answer a few easy identifying questions like your address and sign up to have it held at the fed ex office / pack / ship center of your choice. I've done this for repairs on my laptop as well as my wedding dress with no problems. Good luck.

    @Amy V. one person told me they can't hold it because it's hazardous, another told me they could hold it, but at a facility that I have no way of getting to, and online it tells me I can change the delivery address for $5 but then when I submit it says "error"

    When I asked for a supervisor they put me on hold for 15 minutes and then told me everyone was at lunch. I would like to enjoy some delicious homemade soda with my lunch jerkfaces! Gimme my presents!!

    @Paris- sometimes I'm funny when I'm angry

    Hahahaha "Gimme my presents" Too funny! ...however I'd be a bit mad too I'm sure.

    I've worked in a call center in the past & usually when someone asks to speak with a supervisor, it was a co-worker of mine that really wasn't a supervisor. Go to the next guy after that. Keep "climbing the ladder!" Good luck.

    Fedex home has a habit of dropping packages bound for my parents' house off at random other houses and then marking them as "delivered" I betcha yours is because the CO2 is pressurized...if they left it outside and it got too hot it could probably explode lol Protect all the things by never delivering them at all!

    Haha seriously @Talia! They delivered the syrups that go along with the machine, but no machine! I keep joking with FH that I'm going to breath into some water and pour the syrup in if I don't get this thing soon!

    UPDATE: fedex told me the company could reroute to a different address. Super! Called sodastream, sodastream called fedex, and fedex told THEM that they couldn't change the address either.

    Seriously... I'm boycotting FedEx for life. Jerks

    Haha - what a mess. Have you called the store you registered at? Perhaps, FedEx can just return it as refused and you can pick it up in store.

    I've called fedex, bed bath & beyond, and sodastream. Now I have to wait until they send the package back to sodastream, and THEN it can be rerouted or resent (isn't that just a major waste of gas and labor hours?).

    Really, I'm making this much more dramatic than it is, it's just SO ANNOYING! And this is the thing we wanted to most off of our registry so that's just making it even worse.

    For the record FedEx Ground delivery people are not FedEX employees. They contract people it's crazy. The on;y delivery people that are still FedEx employees are express drivers. That is typically why you don't get great service from Ground people even their boss are not employeed by the company they represent. FedEx gets a horrible name because of it.

    Between the HULK SMASH and Tom's picture of the truck, I am dying over here.

    I think the HULK SMASH might work if you aim it right.
