It varies from church to church.

FORUM ETIQUETTE (and friendly reminder): When you type a post in all capital letters you are going to annoy other forum users. Capital letters are viewed as shouting when communicating online, and its considered rude to do.

I've honestly never heard of this but agree with jlam that it varies. A lot of the "new-age" religions encourage baptism when the child can choose to do so. FH and I actually had this discussion when our daugther was born. I believe in baptism as a baby and he believes in baptism when the child decides they are ready to welcome God into their life and be his "child". I'd talk to your priest/pastor/etc. Good luck!

At most churchs that i've been to no, you don't have to be. But this question is best to asked to the church cause each church sadly have different rules. =) good luck

All caps are often hard to read! you might want to think about that as well if you want our opinions then you need to accommodate and make it easy of us to ready your questions....

on the other hand I also agree with jlam most churches would prefer you to be Baptized to marry in there church but they dont judge either. Then agian you will run in to the really old fashioned preachers that dont want ladies to where pants or shorts at all, those tend to want you to be baptized and a member of the church before getting married in their church

There's no need to be rude. No one was being rude to you. They're both right; all caps is straining on the eyes and difficult to read. It comes across as shouting. While you are correct that you have every right to type in all caps on your profile, a public thread does not necessarily constitute as being "your property". We can avoid your profile easily enough if you're being snotty or if your typing style is offensive on the eyes. It's not so easy to ignore an all caps thread title. That's all. It's not a big deal, just please don't type in all caps anymore. =0)

Well said, Carmen. Also, Good morning! =)

On topic: From what I've noticed, it does depend on each church but I believe that Catholic's have some of the more 'strict' rules when it comes to getting married. Some need both families to be a member of the church, also, the engaged couple can not live together before the ceremony. Again, that varies, but I find it more common with the Catholic weddings. So, it's best to check with the church of your choice.

Sweetheart, honestly no one is being rude to you, its just, typing in caps is meant as yelling so you basically come off as really loud and childish... just saying

and another thing, its not your page, its a PUBLIC forum. your page, is your profile Smiley smile

Yeah I read about that. have you managed to get any sleep yet? lol. Congrats on him coming home. I know FH is going on his annual weekend camping trip with his buddies next weekend and I dread not seeing him for only four days. I dunno how you manage. You're a stronger woman than I. Planning any surprised for his homecoming?
