"I'll be there with bells on" on rsvp card...nobody gets it :(

My rsvp card has three options for the guests: __Will be there with bells on __Will be there, no bells __Will not attend, has bell phobia, sends regrets. I'm finding that my friends and our siblings don't get the idiom of "I'll be there with bells on". Do I just have weird friends/family or is it...

I'm finding that my friends and our siblings don't get the idiom of "I'll be there with bells on". Do I just have weird friends/family or is it just not used as much as I thought nowadays? I'm kinda bummed because I was excited about it being silly and now nobody's getting the joke... *sigh*

I guess I'm the only one here who doesn't like those options. "I'll be there with bells" (not "bells ON") means the person will be there and happy/delighted to attend. It goes back to pre-car days when a delighted guest would use a harness "with bells" for their horse-drawn carriage, meaning the fancier harness.

For me, I have had people be confused enough with what to do with RSVP cards than to have to decipher what the options are.

Also, wanted to add that just because someone doesn't understand Mad Libs or offbeat humor doesn't mean they are boring. Not everyone's comprehension and/or humor level is the same.
