If you could do it again... One year engagement or 2?

I can see Pros and Cons to each- I just got engaged last weekend and now there are big decisions to be made! Just wondering how a lot of you decided! Obviously things to consider are budget, planning horizon, venue availability, and how, for lack of a better word coming to mind, impatient you are to finally be married! Just curious if one year felt like enough time or two years engagements are feeling like they were waiting forever!

One! We got engaged in November and our wedding is in September! I would have killed to have had full year, but two years is just too long! As it is no one really cares about your wedding (except you, FH and mom!) until a month or two out! And a year is PLENTY of time to get everything done if you can afford it!

We did it in seven months and it's been the longest seven months of my life. If I'd had more time I would have changed my mind a million times. We are working with a $15,000 budget and we were able to get amazing vendors and I'm having my dream wedding (considering we are getting married in June). If I had to do it again I wouldn't change the amount of time.

I'd keep it six months or less...long enough to plan the type of wedding we want

We have a 22 month engagement and just hit our one year mark TODAY actually!

I am glad we waited. Got everything we wanted vendor wise and make payments earlier. I have yet to stress about anything and so far we have all our vendors booked (minus florist and makeup/hair artist).

We got engaged in July 2013, and are getting married September 2015, so a little over two years. We wanted plenty of time to save and plan, which is perfectly ok by me!
