Ideas & suggestions needed! Getting married on Mohs birthday!

Jessica, on September 17, 2019 at 8:23 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 12
Hey guys,

So this may sound odd, but I'm actually getting married on MOHs birthday. She is totally fine with this, and actually said "No do it! That will give us a huge reason to celebrate every year!". She was, at the time, helping us pick out our wedding date!

So, I want to do something special for her. FH and I thought we would get her a birthday cake from our baker and have it on the desserts table. Kind of surprise her with it.
I wanted it to be sweet but also kinda funny (that's just who she is).

FH suggested we put "Marriage Celebration/Brandy's Birthday" where the traditional "Happy Birthday Persons Name" goes.

Does anyone else have any other cake suggestions? Sweet but also funny?

Were also doing some other small things for her, in addition to her regular bridesmaid gift. But if you have any other ideas at all, please share!

My best friend got married on my birthday a few years ago! I was a bridesmaid. In the morning while we all got ready in the bridal suite, she had a special cupcake brought in with a candle and everyone sang happy birthday. It was so sweet and thoughtful.

I do do love your idea of a cake though! Really I’m sure ANY gesture will be appreciated as long as she knows she hasn’t been totally forgotten in the wedding shuffle.

My FW's sister and our officiant's wife (both are good friends) will both be celebrating our marriage on their birthday. We have considered a cake and will make an announcement during the reception. The only suggestion of something to put on the cake I have is something along the lines of "More reason to celebrate" with a Happy Birthday or just balloons in frosting. BTW, I think it's sweet that you want to do this for her.

I love the idea of a birthday cake. But, if it was me, I would make that cake just a birthday cake, without mentioning the wedding, since everyone is already there celebrating the wedding.

The birthday cake should just mention her. So she can have a small moment of her own, on your big day. 🎂

My MOH got married on her fathers birthday, so she got him a cake and had the band play happy birthday during the reception. It was very sweet.

That’s such a sweet thing to do for your MOH!! Since (I’m assuming) you’re having your own cake, I would keep this cake strictly for her.

In college once my friends got me a cake that said “congratulations on your birth!” I thought it was hilarious, but you have to have a weird sense of humor I guess.

In my FH's culture they get a separate small cake for every guest who has a birthday in the month you are getting married. September is a busy in my family, we are looking at 10+ cakes. I think it is really sweet and special to recognize the birthdays.

I also got married on my moh bday. We didn't get her a cake for that day but we did it for rehearsal dinner the night before. We honored her bday by writing on our programs that it's her b-day and we sang Happy bday to her at our reception

FH was in two weddings this year that happened to fall on one of his friends birthdays. Both times the couple got the friend a cookie cake and a case of beer (totally what they love) and gave it to them at the rehearsal dinner while we all sang to them.
