Ideas on what to do after a small wedding ceremony

Kendra K, on January 20, 2020 at 7:49 PM Posted in Planning 1 7
Any advice or tips:

My fiancé wants to keep our ceremony small as he does not like to be the center of attention and wants a destination location to avoid family conflict by someone not being invited... so we are looking into Mount Charleston in Las Vegas. I still want to have a reception style event after to celebrate our marriage. Any tips on what to do after a ceremony? People have suggested a dinner, but I still want a party vibe.. others have suggested top golf.. but is that weird?

I considered Top Golf as it is fun but if you want more party vibe I would look for a hotel with a nice rooftop where you can have dinner and then later on the roof top maybe splurge and rent a VIP section to drink and have fun.

My friends did dave and busters after their small ceremony haha. You could also do dinner and then a bar afterwards?

How was that? We’re considering top golf and would provide food and alcohol... with three hours of playing. I’m struggling to step out of the box of a traditional reception, but we would have our first dances at the ceremony site and cake cutting there..

I'd have some sort of a sit down dinner, then head somewhere like topgolf or a bar after.

I agree! A nice reception like dinner to keep "tradition", and then go to Topgolf in lieu of the dancing that would be at a traditional reception!

Mt. Charleston is beautiful. We're going to get our engagement photos done there. The first time I got married (courthouse), we went to dave and busters after and it was so much fun but it was just a few of us. You can look into something more traditional like a dinner and then do something active like Top Golf. Top Golf is highly recommended though.
