Ideas for staircase decorations

Hey ladies! I need ideas for staircase decorations. Our colors are red, black and white. I don't want flowers, as our wedding is simple, and inexpensive. This stair case is huge. If you look at the picture this is from a previous wedding and they have green garland. I want something that is picture ready, but nothing to big. Please help! Thanks

@Amanda G. Because it wont be dark until 9 and the receetion is over at 10:00, I don't think lights are necessary. If it got dark earlier than I would do lights.

I saw an idea on Pintrest that had the decorations at the base of the stair instead of the railing.. looked pretty cool. I looked for the picture.. but I could not find it.

You could do flowering plants and give away as gifts later.

Tulle in and out of the banister??

Our suite has a large curved staircase (not as large as yours though) and we're having people back to our suite after the ceremony. Tulle is inexpensive and I was going to drape it, maybe add some bow or ribbon.
