Ideas for personalizing the wedding

Rikki, on August 6, 2024 at 7:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Hello!
While booking our venue, the owners told us that the best part and what makes the wedding special to each couple is the unique ways they tell their stories. Well my fiance and I have been thinking about it and want to express how everything in our relationship has been out of order. The only idea that we can think of is pictures with dates and blocks of text about said date but we're not a huge fan of that idea.
I was curious how others told their unique story within their wedding. Any ideas is helpful. Thank you

You could have a wedding photo display like a folding room divider or book case. You may not need much at all except for maybe a frame at the top or in the middle saying something to the effect of, " Rikki & (Fiancé's Name) throughout the years..." and then just have the photos in chronological order. You can maybe find a nice template to use to personalize the sign from Etsy or Zazzle. Sometimes just letting the pictures speak for themselves is all you need...and it will lead to conversations between you and the guests.

The main problem is that we just don't have many pictures of ourselves. We always forget to get pictures to capture moments. That's why we wanted to stay away from pictures but we can't think of anything else. That's the reason why I was asking for more ideas.

Maybe you can hire an illustrator to draw milestone events from your life instead of pictures?

That would be expensive and we don't have a budget for that. We did think of that but we can't afford that.

To express that your relationship milestones have felt out of order, you could number your reception tables, but incorporate one event into each table (first date at one table, buying a house at another, getting engaged at another, etc). You could list your relationship milestones in the order they occured, and then match them up with the table number. Your centerpieces could be themed to each event - such as, incorporating keys for the "moved in together" or "bought a house together" milestone. You could also add photos to each table that are related to that milestone.
