i won it, don’t need it, can i sell it?

I attended a bridal expo in Chicago yesterday. During the fashion show they raffled off several prizes. I won an $1800 value wedding photography package for 8hrs. However, I already have my photographer booked so I want to sell the voucher and at least apply the amount I sell it for toward paying off my already booked photographer. I figure it saves myself and another bride money. Does that make sense?

I would just make sure that’s allowed. Usually things like that are non-transferable.

I doubt you'll be able to sell it, especially since it was a free offer.

Yeah, I would be willing to bet that selling it would be against the terms and conditions of the drawing

Selling is probably not an option. It's almost always nontransferable. But, you can reach out to the company and ask if you can use the package for something else. Maybe they can photograph your shower or bachelorette party? Your first Christmas card photo? Who knows. But Id bet they'd be willing to work with you to find a fair option.

I doubt you could sell it. It's really just a marketing ploy anyway. You didn't actually win anything but the photo shoot (which you don't usually pay for anyway). They will most likely charge you for the actual photos if you want them.
