I’m quite disappointed in my cake as it looks nothing like what I showed my baker. It reminds me of a Pinterest fail article and I’m not quite sure how to gracefully tell my baker that I was disappointed. I wanted a 3 tier version of a cake that I saw that originally had 6 tiers. I expressed that I liked how the gold sprinkles faded as you go from top to bottom and somehow I ended up with two obviously different kinds of sprinkles and who knows what happened to the bottom tier’s sprinkles. Also the bottom tier was the same diameter as the middle tier. Although it was somewhat of a discounted cake compared to other bakers, it still wasn’t cheap at $325 for 80 people. Suggestions?

Say I'm sorry but I'm not satisfied it's not what you wanted. You should be happy for your dollars

I'm so sorry this happened to you, but I am happy to know it at least tasted good. I do hope you receive a refund. I'm glad you didn't let this ruin your special day.

$325 is not cheap and a baker should be honest about what they can and cannot do. I’m so sorry you experienced that. She did not deliver, at all. You don’t have to be graceful about it either. Be honest, because she certainly wasn’t.

Be completely straight with her, she's an adult. Just ask her what happened and that you were not happy with the final product.
I'm really sorry that happened and I hope everything else was great.

That looks horrible. Send her an email with photos. If she argues ask her if she would feel proud to post that photo to show off her skills on her social media pages. Chances are she wouldn’t because that looks like a Pinterest fail

I worked in a specialty bakery for 5 years. Bottom line is you paid for a professional cake and received a novice's work. The diameter of each tier is wrong, the structure is off center, the icing and sprinkles are not what you asked for, and the flowers are poorly placed. I would absolutely demand a partial refund and also let the vendor who recommended her know so they don't misguide another couple. I am so sorry this happened, but you are absolutely right, the most important thing is that you and your spouse took vows with the most important people to you to witness and celebrate. I still think you should be refunded though.

Oh I would RIP them a new one lol I would straight up tell them "what the F is that? That's not what I ordered. If you dont fix it I won't buy it. Walmart could do a better job than that. And you want to call yourself a Baker?" But then again that's me I only want one wedding like everyone else wishes so I just might be a slight B about it lol although I'm so sorry you have to deal with that best wishes to you and your FH

Just tell her. That’s honestly not even close. I’d be pissed.

Tell her that it's not the cake you wanted. The baker just might not be experienced enough doing that design.

I wonder if the baker mixed up your photo with someone else's? It's not normal to have tiers the same size. Maybe another bride wanted a "tower" look. And different colors.

I would definitely let the baker know that you were not happy. And as another poster suggested, let the vendor know that recommended them. After I worked with a "5 star rated" real estate agent who was awful, I no longer trust generic ratings. But a vendor? I would take their word, so it's important to let them know what happened. Their recommendations reflect on them, in my opinion!
