I think I may be having a emotional/mental breakdown....

Olivia, on September 12, 2012 at 10:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Right now I hate everything I have for our wedding! I just tried on my dress and it just doesn't look right and I feel fat in it! I feel like saying SCREW YOU to the 2/3 of guests who haven't rsvp'd yet even though our deadline is this Saturday! We can't afford flowers so I have to make about a million coffee filter peonies now. And it really feels like my FH isn't helping with anything!!! He just sits around playing xbox, so I'm planning this whole stupid event by myself, right now I just feel like sitting down and crying until I'm all dried up...

You are fed up, so that is probably why you feel fat in your dress. You weren't going to feel great in it, because you're exhausted.

Can you afford something more than the coffee filter peonies/ I spent oh...$100 on 16 centerpieces, they are candle sticks with pumpkins on them. Got the candlesticks at dollar tree. I don't blame you for not wanting to make those!!!

And, have you told FH how burnt out you are? Asked for his help? Sometimes they don't realize we want it, and think we'd rather do it all alone so we can have what we want.

Maybe a good cry is what you need. Crying makes us feel better. Maybe take a hot bath and stop thinking!! It is going to be OK!! You are going to be beautiful and you have everyone admiring you on your day.

You are so close, you can do itSmiley smile)))

I'm really sorry that you're struggling.. maybe you really should sit down and cry a bit!? Sometimes that helps me to just get it all out.. then don't touch wedding stuff for the rest of the night and start fresh tomorrow or the next day. Also, talk to your FH and tell him the xbox will be waiting for him after the honeymoon! Good luck!

Olivia, I don't blame you. I'm losing my mind too. Just hang tight and you will be happy on your wedding day.

@Shannah - Yes I have asked for his help countless times, and I mean yes he has helped, he just doesn't understand that there are soooo many little details that have to be decided. It's not just pick a place, pick some food, pick some clothes and your done!

I'm overwhelmed too.....feeling exactly like you are. I got my dress home yesterday and put it straight in the closet, all the while asking myself "is this normal" ???? I feel fat, ugly and stressed to the max. Has nothing to do with nerves, it's planning stress. I once again am wishing we had just eloped, but I know in a few days I'll be okay. I just need a BREAK............take a day off, you'll be fine!!!!!! Hugs to you :-)

@Olivia and @Kim - I know exactly how you both feel as I went through the same thing about a month ago. My best advice to you is this - take a day off from planning. Go have a pedicure or manicure, watch a movie, anything to take your mind off of wedding planning. You will be surprised at how much this will help you to feel more relaxed and ready to get back in there!

Hang in there girls! Sending you both hugs!

It's almost over! Ask for help to finish what needs to be done. I was like this too and because I didn't sit down and take a break I turned into Bridezilla at my rehearsal & blew up on everybody who said anything to me. I feel so bad about it but it was a result of being stressed out. Please take a day off and do not talk about the wedding!
