i really don't want a maid of honor.

Of course. I know plenty enough people to have ten bridesmaids if I wanted to do so. I just want it to be me and my fiance and the preacher...any suggestions?

Congrats on your wedding! I have seen many of the Brides on this board say they are not having a bridal party either. I don't think there is any problem with it at all! Its about what makes you and your FH happy.

Have it just be you, your fiance and the preacher...why in the world not? That's what we are doing and as time goes on in the planning I am repeatedly thrilled I made that decision. Don't feel pressure to do anything you don't want to do just because it's what you're "supposed" to do. Have fun with it all and good luck!

My fiance and I are having an intimate wedding of 40 to 50 people. We also do not want any stand ups. We just booked our spot at Volo for a small, intimate ceremony and heavy hors d'oeuvres with wine to follow at the reception. My niece and nephew are going to read a poem about love and his sister might do a religious reading during our 15 minute ceremony. If we need witnesses for our official paperwork, we are choosing our siblings. Whatever you decide will work. Good luck.

You don't need anyone to stand up with you while you're getting married. The only thing you need is 2 people to sign your marriage license & they don't have to stand by you anyone can sign that witnesses the marriage.

This is my 2nd wedding (his 1st). We're having a small ceremony - about 30 people. My FH is having a best man, but I'm not having a maid of honor. You can have a close friend sign the license, but don't HAVE to have someone stand up with you. I plan on having my sister in the front row so I can hand her my bouquet when it comes time for the ring exchange. Good luck!
