Please let me know what you are thinking at this time? I'm not sure if I should still have my wedding because we don't know what the next 5 months will bring, maybe this will all be gone? or just reschedule for next year? but who knows what next year will bring.. I am feeling so lost. I don't want to risk my family members health in any way. Eloping is not an option for us. It's very important to us that our family is there witnessing us getting married and celebrating right after. So either we keep our date this year or move to next August. What are your plans so far?

We were August 22, 2020 in NJ and we decided to postpone to August 20, 2021. Not because we are worried but because the media has done such a great job of terrifying everyone that even if we were allowed to have the wedding (which I doubt) it would have such a negative connotation to it. I don’t want people to wear masks or have to social distance or not hug me. I hope that by next year this is all over and we can have a normal wedding. If not, then we had our new venue put an addendum to our contract that we would get our money back. If we can’t do it next year than we just won’t do it at all and just go to the courthouse.

Hi everyone, an Iowa bride over here!

Our venue suggested that we postpone our August 29th wedding as we were planning on having 400 people. We both have very large families! This is devastating to us as we are in the process of building a house as well. We are rescheduling for sometime in March or April of 2021 as we don’t want our house sitting without being lived in for very long.
This was hard but overall we believe it was the best decision to keep our friends and family safe!

Indiana here. So far all is going pretty well and as long as we stay on track we are set to be fully open by July 4. I was only planning on 100 people at most anyway and so far everyone has said they are fine with coming and that I should still do it. As of June 1st we are allowed up to 100. And by the July 4th its 250+. So we are planning for our August 8th as a go ahead. I do not want to reschedule for next year. I'm already 38 gonna be 39 right after the wedding and we have a 10 month old. So waiting until next summer is out of the question for me. I hope all goes well and we can do this! I'll pray for all of you still holding out hope too!

Oh and also, my venue said they aren't rescheduling anyone past May at this point anyway. But if need be we can reschedule for no fee. They have September and October dates available right now. That's about as far in the future I'm willing to go.

I am having the same issue for our August wedding. The venue has been terrible. We’re looking for alternatives.

    Molly,

Ours as well. We are looking for another option too! Thankfully they are giving us a refund if we choose. What’s annoying is that they are saying our guest count will be affected but are unable to tell us by how many...best wishes on your search!
