I need ideas for my son walking me down the isle

Heather , on August 8, 2017 at 9:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

Help my kids are older . My son who is almost 27 is walking me down the aisle. I want us to do something fun not just ordinary for us walking down the aisle . Nothing to much just something small that will make others smile and not expect. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

We will be on the beach. So something fun we can do either right before we walk down aisle or while we are walking down.

Ideas?

Perhaps you can have your son and daughter walk you down? Then when the officiant ask who gives you away, they say in unison "we do", your FH hugs your daughter and high-five your son? (i know that may not be the fun you are looking for...but it would be pretty and memorable). Make it yours and keep in mind the sanctity of the altar?! Remember all the guest won't have the same viewpoint, I mean as far as what they can see. imho

BTW your kids are adorable and handsome...they appear more like your siblings...not your kids :-)

I totally get that! my son walked me down the aisle (he will be 30 this month!). We didn't do anything "fun".....it was memorable enough to just have him walk me down the aisle. When he got to the front he hugged my FH (now DH)...and all of that was so sweet!

I'm a 5yr widow marrying a 9yr widower...(yes we found love again). When my late hubby and I married, my oldest brother walked me to mid-isle where my son (who was 11 then) then joined "the walk" and presented me to my late hubby. It was so very memorable and sweet. When I viewed the video (this was 13yrs ago), their was not a dry eye in the audience. During this wedding's planning I was thinking, how do I top that and I cant. This time it has be different. As much as I would love my son to walk me (he's now 25), it just won't be the same...to me at least. I will walk alone into a life of new beginnings.

So precious each one of YOU.

Thank you for the ideas. My youngest daughter is the maid of honor so she will already be down the aisle she is bringing in the 2 small flower girls that adore her. So I don't won't the flower girls uncomfortable at all. She will be giving them to their mom's right before I come down.

I just want something fun for my son and I. See I had my twins at 17 so I was still a baby myself trying to raise twins.

Even though I ended up marrying their dad for 20 plus years.....this is something diffrent and my son is a goofball most of the time.

I have handed it over to him as of last night but either way it will be memorable. Thank you all who have shared. Touched my heart.
