i have a cute idea!

Futuremrsm, on September 11, 2019 at 8:46 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 23
I just thought of a cute idea. We are having a halloween themed wedding. I was thinking of ways that we would decorate for the ceremony and I came across this picture. I had an idea that we could get together with our families a week beforehand and have each family carve a pumpkin to line the aisle with!!

Love it, but I honestly would just leave the pumpkins as is if it were me.

It’s an adorable idea but carved pumpkins rot pretty fast, I wouldn’t carve them any earlier than 3 days from your date if you want them firm.

That’s cute and makes it personal. Storage/transport a concern? You could always not carve them, but design with a sharpie. Like wedding colors or gold/silver

Carving party the day beforehand. As Yam said, they rot fast, and if it's anything like around here, the rabbits and squirrels are gonna get to them really quickly.

Pumpkins lining the aisle would be really pretty and unique to me!

That moment when everyone shoots down your cute idea lol. For the record my mom and grandmom loved the idea and said we can have a carving party.

I feel like that's pointless then. The whole point was to make my family's creations part of the ceremony. I'm not concerned with how they look lol. I'm concerned about making the ceremony special.

Whenever I've carved pumpkins they've taken weeks to rot. I would have the family do them and then store them in a garage so they're not exposed to the elements and animals.

Who the heck wants to host a party the day before their wedding lol. In my experience pumpkins that I've carved have taken weeks to rot

Party was a strong word. I also think it's a cute idea, I just was mentioning wildlife being a factor.

Sounds good then! It really depends on where you live. My poor Jacks never survive a week.

Yeah I actually saw something on pinterest. It was a spray you could make and you put it on the inside so they last longer. I'm going to test it this year to see how they hold up

This is a really cute idea, Erica!

I've seen online in the past ways of making carved pumpkins last longer, such as dipping them in a bucket of water with bleach mixed through. I've never personally done this, but you could look in to it Smiley smile
