I hate my wedding dress. *UPDATED IN POST*

I bought my wedding dress one afternoon with my mom and MIL. I went to a used bridal boutique because I had to find the cheapest dress that I could. And I liked it at the time... but I was also 20 lbs heavier when I bought it... and today I tried it on and now I just hate it. I realize that I...

I bought my wedding dress one afternoon with my mom and MIL. I went to a used bridal boutique because I had to find the cheapest dress that I could. And I liked it at the time... but I was also 20 lbs heavier when I bought it... and today I tried it on and now I just hate it. I realize that I settled on it because it hid my baby stomach the best, but now I don't have a stomach and it looks awful. I want to exchange it but they don't do exchanges and we don't have any extra money for me to buy a new one. Guess I'm stuck with it. Worst. Day. Ever. *UPDATE*

My mom is thoroughly pissed that I want to exchange my dress. I realize now that I must have bought it in order to please her and convinced myself to like it. I'm going to go to the boutique next week and try to find one by myself. Everyone can be surprised on my wedding day and at least I'll be happy with how I look that day. She's even trying to convince me not to wear a veil or use the bouquet I made. Can't wait to get MY fav dress.

SASHA! Yes. That is exactly what I will do. Don't know about the pearls too much... looks like I might strangle myself by the end of my first dance lol.

I agree, can you get it made strapless? I think you can work with it, I really do!

All of the chest support is created with the sleeves pulling it tightly.. and I've got some big Gazoombas right now and they need support. I decided I'm going to try and bribe the lady at the boutique I bought it from... I'll say, "This dress was $250 and if I find something I like that is cheaper, you can still keep all the money I spent originally. And if I find one more expensive, I'll pay the difference. " Either way, she'll make more money off of me. Think she'd go for it?

Shannon - I really don't like David's Bridal cause I'm so short and to get it altered so quick would probably cost a fortune Smiley sad

Casandra b. - You are a sweety. I WISH I was as small as you and could fit in your dress. Smiley smile

I hope everything works out for us ladies. We should all love our dress on our wedding days <3

I realize I keep settling so everyone else around me will be happy with my choices. Its been one thing after another - Don't like your bouquets, I like THIS dress, don't wear a veil, you'll look trashy if you wear purple heels under your dress, your bouquet will look better after I add some satin bows and tulle to it! (my bouquet is made of peacock feathers). I could literally smash my face into a wall. Everything that has to do with ME my mother wants to take control of. I'm the one who has to wear it, so she needs to stop because I am not happy with her suggestions. I hope everyone else finds a way to enjoy their dress.. I am certainly going to try.

I love the update! Do what will make you happy. It's just a dress, your mom can get over it.

I am totally getting rid of it! If I can't exchange it, I'll buy a new one and cut my losses. I recently heard that you get all of your confidence from your wedding dress. If you love your wedding dress, you will feel beautiful and confident without ever having to try. And then I realized... I don't feel pretty at all in mine. So I'm going to fix it right away! Smiley smile

I do have a david's bridal, but I'm getting married so soon that they wouldn't be able to alter it in time. Smiley sad At least not without it costing a TON of money Smiley sad

@PeacockBride2B- call up some local seamstresses and look at reviews online on yelp.com, they will probably be much cheaper than DB an surely one of them could alter it for you in 2 months! Give it a shot, and then if you find the dress you looooovvveee, call around.
