LAQUITA , on April 20, 2020 at 8:16 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 21
My wedding was next month on May 20,2020. But due to covid-19 I have to push it back to September 11,2020. It was had to do but for the safety for my friends and family it was a must. Who else had to do this

We postponed May 23rd to August 1st. It was rough but we know it's for the best

Sorry to hear, but totally understandable... safety first! Hopefully things will be better contained by the fall. Our date is in October. But with certain states already opening up, I’m sure that the virus will only get worse. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Original date was 4/25/20 & we postponed to 4/18/21! Still absolutely heartbroken about it but at the end of the day we want to be responsible & keep all our guests & vendors safe & healthy.

What did your venues do in this scenario? Did it cost anyone extra money to have to do this?

My venue is letting me move my date I may have to pay a little more because the day changed from a Wednesday to a Friday. My Baker and photographer just moved everything without any problem

Oh okay not too bad then. I am hoping everyone is being really understanding because it is not the fault of the brides and grooms!

I'm sorry you had to postpone your big day. We moved ours from May 9th to June 20th. I pray all goes well; they are lifting the stay at home restrictions in some states; although I think it's way to early, I pray all goes well. I can't handle another rescheduling... Congratulation to you both.

We live in FL and our wedding is on Sept 19 in NY and kind of just playing it by ear day by day until June to make a decision. We want to keep our wedding date so we may just get married at the courthouse here in FL and postpone our big wedding in NY next year. I have friends and family that will be traveling coming from different states and international and we don't want to compromise everyone's health and safety.

Our wedding is set for Nov. 7, 2020; we will more than likely cancel the big wedding/reception. We still plan to get married this year but do something small with close family and maybe friends. Then have a big reception next year. May seem premature better safe than sorry, we have family members with pre existing issues and fragile grandparents, I would hate risking anyone getting sick from my wedding.

Our was scheduled for Aug 23, 2020. We are likely going to postpone it until next August. We are in IL and we're in lockdown until at least May 30th. When things open back up, cases are bound to rise, so we faith little faith we'll glide through the phases at 2 weeks each. We don't want to compromise the atmosphere of what a wedding should be just to have it. I keep telling everyone I am not paying $X amount for photos to have people wear masks or look comfortable or have to be sitting 6 feet from someone else! lol our venue was having people reschedule a few months out, like for later in the fall or winter, but with the second wave of coronavirus almost guaranteed, we don't want to take the chances having to reschedule again. Hopefully this is the most stressful part of all our marriages!!

I'm with you! We're doing the same thing. I'd rather have a big celebration when all this is done and over and everyone can have a good time then push it and be disappointed in how it has to be or being forced to reschedule. We'll do the important part now and get the party later, its all good Smiley smile
