I don't want a bustle!

Everyone is telling me I have to get a bustle on my dress. I DO NOT WANT A BUSTLE AT ALL! I love the fullness of the bottom of my dress and would rather just hold it up while I'm dancing than the bustle. Are there any alternatives??? Im not a fan of how they look and would much rather use the loop...

Everyone is telling me I have to get a bustle on my dress. I DO NOT WANT A BUSTLE AT ALL! I love the fullness of the bottom of my dress and would rather just hold it up while I'm dancing than the bustle. Are there any alternatives??? Im not a fan of how they look and would much rather use the loop to put on my wrist to hold my dress up if I need to. My BMs say that looks tacky and only holds a part of the dress anyway. Any suggestions... or am i gonna have to bite the bullet? :/

Do what you want, but my mom did the wrist loop 30 years ago and she said she couldn't believe how heavy her dress was and became throughout the evening. I don't love the way bustles look either, but I will be doing one so I can dance!

Honestly, I hate bustles! I think they look stupid. If I had my way, I would chop off my train and not have to worry about it at all. BUT, everyone says I can't do that *lol* I'm hoping that when my dress comes in, the seamstress will be able to show me a bustle that looks better (and is still affordable).

My dress doesn't have a train. I figure my ceremony is about 1/2 hour, and the reception is 5 hours. I'll have it bustled more often than not. I AM wearing a full length cathedral veil for the ceremony, but removing it for the reception. That way I get the best of both worlds without the bustle. I recommend bustling though, you don't want to have to worry about it.

I agree - I didn't get a bustle for my dress. My consultant tried to talk me into it - saying the Loop is for hanging the dress, not to be put around your wrist and she doesn't know how that became a fashion lol. I always see brides with the wrist loop lol - this bride will be using it!

I'll be honest, your train doesn't look long enough for the loop option anyway. Maybe that's just because the model is 500 feet tall. I think the side bustle would look awesome, I never even knew that was an option.

My bustle is at the bottom of my dress, not on my behind. I thought about the loop also on my wrist, but didn't want the dress to hug everyone i hugged. yes talk to your seamstress

I had a double French bustle. Here, it’s just pinned up but when it was finished, it lay so beautifully and there was still a small train left. It worked our well for me. I also used my wrist strap for a long time before we bustled and it didn’t cause any problems.

I am facing this very dilemma right now myself I just don't want it and my MOH is about to freak out lol, but no she just doesn't want anyone to step on my dress or for it to get dirty but I really love the way the dress looks and I don't want to take away from the look of it. A Bride's work is never done!

I do NOT want a bustle, the train of my gown is one of the biggest allures to me. I'm not having dancing, a bridal party, or really any of the traditional things so I'm going to hold the loop on the bottom if I need it off the ground. I had a seamstress I had been talking with actually argue with me that I HAD to have one. Smiley smile I won't be using her.
