I am having the worst time picking a color for my wedding. I thought this was supposed to be fun? It started out with my fiance and I not being able to agree on a color. Then we thought we both liked jade but now 2 of my bridesmaids who happen to be my sisters are telling me its tacky so its making me think it might be. I just don't want to look at my photos in 10 years and think what was i thinking? Does anyone have any thoughts? My fiances top pick is kelly green but I sooo nervous about that color because I don't want the room to be too green and bright.

OK- get this through your head now- because you are heading down a road you don't want to go down...

If you and FH want something (jade, for example)- tell everyone else to shut their pie holes! The only thing that matters is it's what you want! Listen to suggestions, but keep in mind- they aren't you, and don't want what you want!

Personally, I think black, white and jade would be gorgeous!

Purple , green, yellow and white are my favorite colors, why not try to make your favorite colors come together on your wedding day?

Don't worry about what your sister's think. This is your wedding and you and you're FH memories. Jade is very pretty and you have the option of a blue or green tinted jade. You could always incorporate a little bit of a bright color like yellow into the bouquets, sashes, trim on dresses, (bow)ties. Get creative.

The most important part of color you want to remember no matter what color(s) you end up picking is: The same shade will look different on different types of fabrics. So you might want to decide what type of fabric you would like for the BM dresses and then decide what color/shade would like nice with that shiny or muted fabric.

    Good luck! Smiley smile

I am doing a sage color green... not sure if thats the right description and brown with cream... my theme is the perfect "pair" and I am pulling my colors from that... having a late fall wedding I am using a fall colored pear with deeper greens and browns

You should create a mood board (some call it inspiration board). FI and i did it and it was a really great to work together and figure out what we wanted. this blog gives good instructions: http://www.depositagift.com/blog/weddings/create-a-mood-board-to-guide-your-wedding-vision/

as for all this tacky-talk...you need to ignore them. first focus on you and FI and really try and figure out what YOU want, which is hard enough. i think the mood board thing will help. it will be especially helpful when you talk to your florist. kelly green might work as an accent, but regardless of my POV, it has to feel right to you.

this site also has great design ideas: http://stylemepretty.com and you can sort by color palette: http://www.stylemepretty.com/category/wedding-resources/wedding-color-palettes/

this one might help too: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/

Don't listen to the girls, they're your attendants not stylists. if you and your fiance like jade, use it. if it looks good to you that's all that counts. I'm using juniper which is a color I wouldn't normally care about, but it looks great with pewter I think which is my #1 favorite color. I started with gray and went from there. so start with your favorite.

Thanks girls! I feel much better! We have decided to go to David's together to look at the colors on the dresses and not listen to our families....aka my sisters really!

There is nothing wrong with any color you wish. There are variations of every color, so you should be able to come to some agreement.

I received an ebook (from another retailer of wedding favors) on how to pick out wedding colors that may help you. http://www.theweddingexpert.ca/wp-content/uploads/Wedding-Colour-Choices-Made-Easy.pdf. I hope this helps. If you don't understand, email me at *******************@*******.*** and I will be glad to help you (no sales pitch) make your planning easier.

I doing Black Ivory with pops of deep Purple. All the flowers will be different shades of purple and ivory(white). The ladies will be in a deep purple. The flower girl will wear ivory with a purple headband.

Well, for lack of a better term I am afraid I am going to just have to open my "pie hole" here for a moment. As I mentioned in another post, I agree that you should go with the jade. You love the color and I even bought you the swatch. It's what you want and what you have wanted all along and after much consideration, whether anyone likes the color or not, you do and that's all that matters (and as I mentioned before, it makes my eyes look great, LOL). IMO the advise of your sister ( I won't speak for the other one) far supersedes the ones of strangers. I want you to be happy and without hesitation I encourage you to go with the Jade!!! This isn't that hard and it is going to be fun!!! And all that really matters is that you, Matt and that adorable little boy live happily ever after. Because that's the only "technicality" that matters ~ your happiness Smiley smile

BTW this site is fantastic and I'm glad you found it. I've been meaning to tell you about it! Smiley smile
