i can’t find a pretty venue for a small wedding

on March 2, 2021 at 12:02 AM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 8
Every venue I see holds 150-300 people. Atleast all the really pretty venues that I see in the Pittsburgh region. However, I don’t think I’ll have over 60 people. my family all lives out of state, but most are either old or have 5 kids, so I’m planning on a smaller wedding since half of them won’t be able to make it, I’m guessing. I’m inviting 125 people in total. I’ve found so many venues I like and then it’s depressing when I see I don’t think I’ll have enough people for it Smiley sad I wanted a big wedding so I’m kinda sad /: I really don’t want to settle for a restaurant or just a hall. I want it somewhere really pretty like in a barn or historic estate ...the money isn’t the problem /: where can I find something beautiful that will be for 60 people !?! Anyone??

Have you used the “Venues” tab here and searched your area? What about a historic house, winery, aquarium, zoo, resort?

Take a look at eventective.com or peerspace.com which have smaller venues not on the popular lists.

Do these places have a minimum? Have you asked them at all about smaller wedding sizes? If they have had any weddings at all this past year then they probably can accommodate a smaller size.

Yes some do have a minimum. Others I’m waiting on a response but I’m just worried it would look silly with too little people

I understand from a business standpoint to have a minimum, but not everyone has larger families and lots of friends. 🙄 Good luck though.
Also a lot of wineries can hold smaller numbers and look beautiful

Have you looked at any of the JAM catering venues. They have a lot of great outdoor and historic venues throughout the area. Ours is at Welkinweir which is both a historic home and an arboretum. It's beautiful! They also are flexible with the menu and allow you to easily pick and choose what you want included.

We are planning to have our wedding at the barn at Madison. The venue has a max capacity of 150 and is stunning. Our guest list is at 95 people as of now but will grow a bit as we continue our planning. They also have a 3 bedroom bridal suite on the top floor that sleeps 12 guests for the weekend.
