If your husband or partner wanted to donate sperm would you be okay with it? Why or why not?

I don't know. I am proud of the fact my Fh only have children with each other. Adding someone else in weather we know them or not could get messy and complicated

Especially if I were to see the child of my husband and friend. That would make me feel some type of way

I completely understand. My husband and I were just talking about it and he wouldn't be comfortable with it either.

I believe each clinic has its own standards. But most of them had education (Bachelor's degree or higher), had to know your family medical history (so adopted or kids conceived through donors couldn't), low BMI (not fat), no STDs (that makes sense), had to give a sample for quality testing, and I forget what exactly the schedule was for sex but basically you agree to donate X many times in a month over the course of a year and you can't have sex a certain time frame before donating.
I don't think I could justify ruining my sex life for a year even if we met the criteria.

I could really care less. I know the trails of infertility can be rough so I just see it as helping create a family.

Since hubby is such a traditionist when it comes to marriage and family, I couldn't even imagine him wanting to. However, I imagine if he did ask it would be for good reasons - such as a public health concern. If he felt so deeply that it was something he'd be willing to put his traditionism aside for it, I would trust and support his decision.
I don't consider it him fathering a child. More, as an act of charity, allowing someone else to be a parent.

Eh, he’s gets paid for it, so I really don’t care. It’s the same as donating plasma to me. I’ve even signed up to donate my eggs.

Okay, I'll look more into the standards of donation.

Would you have some of the concerns that others do about your husband having unknown children?

Would you feel weird about it or uncomfortable with having unknown children out there?

Not at all. They aren’t really his children, he’s just helping someone have their own.

No problem. Still a weird thing to think about. I can't think of a single situation where this could come up. How about you? Could you see your husband becoming a sperm donor?
