Since you have a large party and your wedding is at 4 pm you should probably start around 11 or 12 especially if you have one make up artist to serve everyone. It will take a while to get ready and for your wedding to start on time. You would want to start as early as possible. I hope that this helps. Good luck

You will need an estimate from makeup and hairstylist artists. You would figure out how many services everyone wants. If 16 want both, it could take an hour for each, as a rough guess. There would likely be 4 who would provide the services.

Both bc you and your party will need to have hair and makeup done. You will need plenty of time for the vendors to service you and your party in a decent amount of time and not be rushed. You would want everything to run as smoothly as possible

I would ask your makeup artist and hairstylist. Mine were able to give me a timeline of exactly when each person needed to arrive to get everything done so we were ready to go.

Start hair/makeup at 7-8am for 16 ladies with 4-6 artists to finish by 1pm.

With a group that big, you’ll want to start earlier than you think. For 16 people, hair and makeup usually takes most of the morning. A common setup is starting around 8:00–9:00 AM, assuming you have multiple stylists working at the same time. Make sure the bride is scheduled closer to the end, build in buffer time for delays, and aim to have everyone finished at least an hour before you need to leave for the ceremony. The more people involved, the more extra time you’ll be glad you planned for.

If your wedding is at 4 PM and you have 16 ladies getting hair and makeup, it’s best to start around 7:30 or 8 in the morning. This gives plenty of time so everyone is ready without feeling rushed.

Thank you all for the advice. Im letting my bridesmaids/mothers/grandmothers decide who wants to get hair and makeup professionally done or do it themselves

You should start in the morning. Have a light breakfast station set up for everyone and have a start time of no later than 9am.

For a 4pm wedding and 16 ladies (including grandmas and moms), you'll want to start hair and makeup early to avoid rushing. Typically, hair and makeup take about 45-60 minutes per person, so to accommodate everyone:

    • Start hair and makeup around 7:30-8:00 AM. This will give you enough time for everyone to be done well before the wedding, and you can have some buffer time for any delays or last-minute touch-ups.

    • If you have a professional team, they might be able to stagger the appointments for a more efficient process, allowing for a later start time, but it’s better to be ahead of schedule to avoid stress.

For a party of 16, hair and makeup should typically start around 7–8 AM, assuming multiple artists are available. Plan for about 45–60 minutes per person, build in buffer time, and aim to have everyone finished by 2–2:30 PM so there’s room for dressing, photos, and any delays before the 4 PM ceremony.
